Shopaholic - is it a mental disorder?

I have watched the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic. I remember there were scenes that the lead artist was sent to a group of shopaholics for psychiatric treatment. The role of the girl was a person who over spends a lot about fashionable things somethings she forgets that she doesn't really need it.

What about you? Can you consider yourself as a shopaholic? Is it already an addiction that you need to go to a rehab to reorganize yourself?

I do shop but I am not a compulsive buyer I only buy stuff and clothes if I need it or I like the style and the quality is really great for my taste

Sometimes I buy things that I don't really need but I cannot consider myself shopaholic. Maybe for makeup because it's my passion. And gadgets too :). But I think about it first before buying it because I don't want to waste my money on something that I don't like
