It seems that curls have always been in demand, especially in western culture. If you remember the medieval times and the times of 17th-19th centuries, you will also remember that people were wearing wigs with all the different styles of curls. These wigs were a long time fashion. Nowadays, even though we don't see these classic wigs, we still see people, especially women, which try to make their hair curly, because they are unsatisfied with their own type of hair.

That's how it always is, people want what they don't have. Curly-haired women want straight hair, straight-haired women want curly hair, darker-skinned women want lighter skin, lighter-skinned women tan all day to get darker...

Anyway, big hair has always been a mark of beauty for women and having curls is the easy way to achieve that.

these hairs specially haves western peoples, but i really don't like curly hairs, these hairs are not suit on every face, i love straight hairs with different hair cuts.

I do not like curly hair because these hair do not match on face.Hair is made of protein.Now in these proteins are sulfur atoms.When two sulfur atoms come together,they form what's called a disulfide bond.If two sulfur atoms are far apart in the same protein and they come together to form that bond,the protein is going to bend accordingly.

when I was little, people thought my parents took me to have my hair permed...that is how curly my hair was! lol

But when I was in 9th grade, I finally got a chance to straighten my hair! :)(I begged my mom over the years before that! lol)

Now I've getting straight hair perm every 3 years or so to maintain straight hair. But yes!! Just like the first posts "PEOPLE LIKE WHAT THEY DONT HAVE"

sounds mean but yes its true, (at least for me.haha:rolleyes:) Now I do curl my hair sometime (depends on occasion and the outfit,etc)
but the bottom line is, I would still vote for Straight hair :D

I have baby thin hair and it's not super straight so I always have it rebonded to make it more straight and I really love super straight hair on a bob cut. However when I see women with big wave hairs, I like them too, but I don't want to mess with my hair too much because I may be doing it more harm if I style it too much.

two of my friends has the curly hairs, one of them looks cool in curly hairs and the another one looks so gurly with curly hairs so it's all about the perfectness and suitableness.on some persons these hairs looks beautiful and on some person it gives so bad looks.

I read some where that a gene called trichohyalin is responsible for making hair curly.. Is it true??

That's right, arunkumarrr, trichohyalin gene is responsible for creating curls. There has been many researches about this and they have found to be true. There actually are treatments available now to make the hair curlier or straighter. I read that there is already a pill made available to public by a cosmetic company in Paris. I don't know the name yet but I will research about it to give you all info about this amazing product.

I do not really like curly hair that's why I've been straightening my hair since when I was in high school. Straight hair is match for my face, and it enhances my beauty. ^_^
