Vibrant fuchsia

Fuchsia lips can look every bit as chic as classic crimson. The key is to tone down the rest of your makeup and let your vibrant pout take centre stage. Go for neutral tones on the eyes or simple dark eyeliner , and keep blush muted. Also, choose a lipstick with a matte to creamy finish instead of anything overly glossy or shimmering, for a look that's classy and timeless.

Deep plum

Nothing looks quite as alluring as deep plum lips . Perfect for a night out, a nearly-black pout looks best on a clean face with a dab of liner and mascara. Add some shimmering silver or champagne eyeshadow on the brow bone and around the tear ducts to brighten up your gaze and make heads turn everywhere you go. Expert advice: for a perfect, mess-free application, paint on your dark lipstick with a brush.

Electric orange

Try out one of the season's most daring trends: orange lipstick! This bright hue can instantly brighten up your face and give you a great glow, especially if you've got olive or golden skin. But fear not, you can still bare an orange pout if you're on the pale side; just warm up your complexion with a touch of bronzer. Complete the look with strong brows and dark lashes , and you're good to go.

Classic red

Red lipstick is one of the oldest beauty staples; even Cleopatra was a fan. For a modern twist, skip the Egyptian queen's dramatic eye makeup and pair your scarlet lips with a dewy complexion and a dash of black mascara. Not sure which red's for you? Makeup artists suggest picking a shade with the same undertones as your complexion. Opt for hues with a blue base for cool skin tones and shades with more yellow or orange for warmer complexions.

Smouldering burgundy

Channel your inner vamp with a sultry burgundy pout. Go all out with a super glossy finish or get a subtler, wine-stained look by dabbing on a bit of creamy lipstick with your finger. Burgundy's perfect for fall and can work wonders on virtually all skin tones. Just make sure to keep the eye makeup light and cover any dark circles to avoid looking ghoulish.

I always use red lipstick. I don't think I look great with different colors especially pink. :( I have dark lips that's why. Although I don't smoke.

I love wearing red but I don't do it everyday. Only when I don't have too much time to do my makeup :). A red lipstick can make you look polished even if you don't spend too much effort on your look

I like light lip stick on girls because it seems like decent that is why I like it.

I don't use lipstick till now. I only use lip gloss. But I love red lipstick. It makes us look very spirited.
