Do you people use a night cream?

I have seen few friends and other people who use night cream before going to bed and i am wondering if its really necessary. Please share your views on long term benefits & short comings of using such creams also if one discontinues using it. Will it have some bad effects? I have a normal to slight dry skin and uses only day moisturizing creme.
I want to know if i should also use one? Is there any harm?

it depends on the type of night cream you use, sometimes it may give side effects sometime it wont.
Night creams is usually used to keep the skin glowing in the morning, avoid acnes and so on.
i use vit-E oil :)

Well I used night cream at winter season only because it is very necessary in winter season. In my case my skin causes some creaks so I use this night creams. People generally says that using night creams softens our skin and gives us a fresh feeling in morning. I think I might start using night cream in other seasons also.

i use night cream only in winter not forever.
because in winter our skin becomes dry so cold cream or any night cream are make s soft to our skin.
